That link was suggested by FreeWebTown Administrator and explain also something about robots.txt wich i had no idea: CLICK to see the post First keywords and description of your site must be included in the HEAD part of your HTML code with the META TAGS. If you click on your browser: View->Page Source You will see in this page:
Just copying that i have a little doubt. Should keywords be separated only by "," or there should be also a space...And aren't sites without <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT=... and <META NAME="description" CONTENT=... anyway indexed by spiders (i think in fact they are indexed). You can also have a text file on your root folder called robots.txt that will allow or not different spiders and also that you can specifie how each spider have to index your site. Some links: http://www.searchtools.com/robots/robots-txt.html http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/robots.html http://www.webtoolcentral.com/webmaster/tools/robots_txt_file_generator/ So the point must be going to http://www.google.com/addurl.html and add your url to be indexed. You will find similar page to add your site on different search engines. However not all automatically add your site to be indexed. I believe that being indexed in one search engine makes easier to appear in other engines, so i try to be indexed in several engines hoping that i will also be in those i didnt submited my url... There are several sites where you can easily have the meta tag code generated and submit free to some search engines. I used ineedhits wich banner you can see on my search page, but right now they changed site and i'm not sure now is free... Ok, here are usefull links: For the meta tag builder: http://www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/builder.html Or http://www.webtoolcentral.com/webmaster/tools/meta_tag_creator/ Before submiting to search engines you can CHECK if your meta tags or page is Spider Freindly: http://www.scrubtheweb.com/ oki, i liked the easy submit feature to 25+ engines from ineedhits, but as they changed site and is not what i knew, then i add here links to submit to each engine. SOME SUBMIT FORMS WILL SEND YOU AN EMAIL ASKING YOU TO CONFIRM THE URL AND SUBMISSION YOU MADE (so you have to give a valid email). Well i haven't tested this yet but seems to work ok: |
